Turmeric Latte Banana Chocolate Chip Nice Cream

Since bananas are already commonly used in smoothies, it should come as no surprise that someone discovered/transformed them into an “ice cream” a few years back.

Banana nice cream is probably one of the easiest “ice creams” to make. Throw a few slices of frozen banana and your choice of milk into a food processor, pulse, and you get a healthy but creamy and sweet frozen treat.

So what’s the deal with tumeric? Turmeric comes from the ginger family and resembles the ginger root, but with a golden-yellow color. It’s often used in South Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine and has been touted as having numerous health benefits. It has often been said to help reduce inflammation and heartburn.

Turmeric Latte

You may have had a turmeric latte before and likely overpaid for it at some fancy coffee shop. However, it’s very easy to make one at home with turmeric powder; which you can find at your local grocer. Add in some ginger, cinnamon, milk and sweetener of your choice and you have yourself a fancy latte.

After making many tumeric lattes at home, I was inspired to try something a little different. That’s where the idea for tumeric latte nice cream came in. I decided to use banana milk which adds in even more banana flavor….and who doesn’t love chocolate chips with bananas?

  • Peeled and sliced bananas can be frozen overnight or in a half hour by placing them flat on a sheet tray in the freezer.
  • Make sure bananas are completely frozen. If you can, freeze overnight for best results.
